9 Tips To Drive This Winter In Lebanon

January 31,2018

Yes! Snow is finally here and we’re all thrilled to hit the slopes in Zaarour, Faraya and Arz! Not a ski person? Well, you can still snuggle up in a cozy chalet.

Both ways, we recommend that you take all the safety measures that will ensure your car makes it through the winter season without the smallest scratch. Here you go:

1- Make sure your tires are properly inflated and keep a set of chains handy when heading to the mountains.

2- Make sure your gas tank is full before long trips. This might seem like a given, but better than learning this lesson the hard way. Getting stuck in snow is fine, and might even be fun at times, but getting stuck in snow on an empty tank won’t be.

3- Never use cruise control when driving on slippery roads.

4- Get your car inspected to make sure the engine is working properly.

5- When you can, run the heater to remove the window fog. Here’s how to remove it as quickly as possible.

6- If the road is covered with ice, drive with steady speed and avoid sudden brakes or steering at all costs

7- Keep in mind that many new safety technologies (like back-up cameras) have outside sensors that can freeze or fog up.

8- Anti-lock braking systems (ABS) help drivers maintain control by preventing wheels from locking. Don’t slam the brakes if you have ABS, just hold them down firmly when braking.

Stay safe and warm Lebanon
