March 23,2017

It’s undeniable that technology is taking more and more place in the automotive industry. A few decades ago, it would’ve been pure science fiction to imagine such progress. Remember that supercar from Back to the Future? Well we’re not there yet but each year seems to bring its lot of innovation!

With this new series, we have decided to gather some of the coolest features that are taking the auto market by storm and which will enthrall the techiest drivers around! So fasten your seatbelts, you’re in for a fun ride!

Here are some features that will totally change the way you spend time inside your car!

1. Stay connected with built-in 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspots

Wouldn’t it be a dream come true to be able to use your phone, tablet, and laptop inside your car without having to use cellular Data? Many car manufacturers like GMC and Chevrolet have made this possible by adopting built-in 4G LTE hotspots in their cars. Just refrain from stalking that ex of yours or liking food pics on Instagram while behind the steering wheel.

2. Your car will even recognize your voice

Chrysler, Dodge, Fiat, Jeep, and more have implemented UConnect voice recognition systems in their 2015 models and we’re absolutely loving it. This feature allows your car to recognize and respond to your voice for a number of tasks. You couldWith this technology thus you can now ask your car“Where is the nearest gas station?” which is, let’s be honest, very convenient.

3. Your Windows shall clean themselves.

“Hydrophobic” windows, other than having a cool name, are actually coated glass that stops rain, dirt, and other debris from touching the car windows. Kia started using this tech on its 2015 and 2016 models.

4. And the interior of your car shall do the same

Honda Odyssey includes a built-in vacuum with a hose for people who are interested in keeping everything clean 24/7. This is for all you clumsy people who constantly drop things and spill whatever it is you’re drinking in your cars.

5. NASA-approved car seats anyone?

Nissan and NASA teamed up to develop the “zero gravity” seats which are supposed to keep you in a natural posture, relaxing your muscles and spine thanks to its cushioning technology. This is sure to become the ultimate tech to prevent fatigue during long car drives.

6. To drive or to get a massage?

Being able to warm or cool car seats in cars like the 2015 Kia Sedona is great. But Mercedes-Benz took this to the next level with its line of S-Class cars  that has six massage modes built into its car seat, including “hot stone” and “workout” massages that will help any driver feel relaxed and invigorated after long days at work.

We know what you’re thinking: one day all of these will be combined and included in each and every car and you can’t wait for that day to come! Until then, do any of these features fascinate you in a particular way? How big of a role does tech play when you’re looking for a new ride?
